How we handle your information on this website and in our text messages

Community Chiropractic of Groton Inc (“Community Chiropractic,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through itsforyourlife.com, our online forms, our patient portal, and our email and text messages, and how we use and protect it. It does not replace our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, which describes how we use and share your health information as your healthcare provider. You may ask the front desk for a copy at any time.
We collect only what you choose to give us or what we need to care for you and run the practice:
If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts, we use it only to send appointment reminders, confirmations, closing and rescheduling notices, and other messages about your care and account with our office. Message frequency varies with your appointments. Message and data rates may apply.
We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or text-messaging opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text-message consent is never a condition of receiving care. We share your number only with the service providers that deliver our messages on our behalf.
To stop receiving texts at any time, reply STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP or call us at 978-448-9355. We will never include details about your diagnosis or treatment in a text message.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide and bill for your care and operate our systems, for example with your insurance company or health plan, our billing and claims services, and the secure technology providers that host our systems and deliver our email and text messages. Providers that handle health information for us are bound by written agreements that require them to protect it. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Our systems use encryption in transit and secure, access-controlled cloud hosting, and our staff sign in individually. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so please avoid sending sensitive health details by ordinary email or text; call us or use our secure forms instead.
We keep patient records for the period required by Massachusetts law and our professional obligations. Messages and form submissions that are not part of your medical or billing record are kept only as long as we need them.
Our website is meant for adults. Parents and guardians complete forms on behalf of their children, and we handle that information as part of the child’s patient record.
